How Long Can We Ignore the President’s Health?

I grant you, the deterioration in George W. Bush’s mental acuity is not as easy to pick up on as it would be say, if Peter Jennings slurred his words and hesitated before making the most simple declarative sentence. Still, the signs are there that the man who at noon today was sworn-in as our 43rd president (again) is impaired in a very real way. The truth about George W. Bush’s medications and his disability(s) will come out. The time has long passed when secrets about a President can be kept from the public by a few loyal insiders. The time has long passed when questions about a president’s mental and physical health can be stonewalled forever. According to a scandal sheet compiled by Peter Dizikes at Salon.com, there have been 34 major scandals during the past four years that the Republicans have to answer for. I will add a 35th. Keeping the facts secret concerning George W. Bush’s declining mental and physical health is a huge scandal. And because of the nature of all health problems, the facts will come out...must come out. Unfortunately for President Bush, it will probably be sooner rather than later.
